Moving from Los Angeles to Sacramento for more house and a real yard? The last thing you want after stretching for a bigger place is a surprise moving bill. Our own crews run it door to door for one flat price, keyed to your closing date.
A lot of people making the LA to Sacramento move are buying their first real house, or trading a cramped city place for one with a yard and a second bathroom. Sacramento gives you more home for the money than LA or the Bay Area, which is exactly why the capital keeps drawing families north. It’s about 385 miles straight up the I-5, and we run it with our own crews and trucks: we load in LA, drive it up, and unload in Sacramento, same team both ends, so nobody hands your things off along the way, and nobody slips a broker into the middle of it.

It’s a straight shot up the I-5 through the Central Valley, around 385 miles and five to six hours of driving. No mountains, no detours, which makes it one of the more predictable long hauls we run, so the delivery timing tends to be reliable.
One thing to keep in mind: the valley gets hot in summer, so we wrap and load with that in mind rather than leaving things to bake in a warm trailer. Delivery runs on a window rather than a fixed hour, and for a dedicated truck going straight up it’s usually quick.
We confirm your timing before the move so you can line up the Sacramento end, keys, closing, and all.

A to Z Packing
A long-distance move is priced on how much you’re moving and how far, plus packing and the access at both ends, not by the hour like a move across town. Home size is the biggest factor by far.
We won’t quote it blind over the phone. We go through your inventory first and then give you a flat price that holds, with nothing added once the truck reaches Sacramento.
Two easy ways to bring it down: pack yourself instead of adding full packing, and clear out what you’re not taking before we load. For general pricing, see our rates page.
Upfront pricing, licensed crews, your own team start to finish
People head to Sacramento for the lower cost of living, state and government work, and more house for the money, and where you settle shapes the move. The older central neighborhoods like Land Park, East Sacramento, and Midtown are tree-lined streets with character homes, sometimes with tight driveways and narrow access that need the right truck.
The growth, though, is out in the suburbs: Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove, and Natomas, where master-planned and gated communities want a name at the gate and may set move hours through the HOA. Downtown condos near the Capitol come with reserved elevators and a certificate of insurance. Tell us where you’re landing when you book and we handle the access ahead of time.
An LA to Sacramento move covers the whole job: furniture apart and back together, wrapping and padding, loading, the drive, and placing everything room by room at the Sacramento end. Pianos, antiques, and fragile pieces go to crews who handle them regularly.
Add packing if you’d rather not box things yourself. If your Sacramento place isn’t ready when the truck arrives, storage in transit holds everything until it is.
We run other routes out of LA too, from San Francisco and San Jose to Reno, San Diego, and Las Vegas. See all destinations.

Yes, and it’s common on this route. Tell us when you get keys and we plan the pickup and delivery around it, with storage in transit on standby if the dates don’t line up perfectly.
It depends on how much you’re moving and the services you need, not an hourly rate. Home size is the biggest factor. You get a flat price upfront once we’ve gone through your inventory, with nothing added at delivery.
Yes, that’s a lot of this route. We arrange gate access and work around any HOA move hours ahead of the date.
Yes. Those central neighborhoods can mean narrow driveways and tighter access, which we plan the truck and crew around.
The drive is about 385 miles, five to six hours straight up the I-5. For a dedicated truck going through, delivery is usually quick for a long-distance move. We confirm your window before we start.
We wrap and load with the heat in mind, so your things are protected on a warm trailer rather than cooking the whole way up.
Yes, we run it both ways.
