Downtown high-rises and foothill homes across Glendale — building access, parking, and hillside logistics handled by our own crews.
Glendale is really two cities in one, and a move here depends entirely on which one you’re in. Down on the valley floor around Brand Boulevard and the Americana at Brand, it’s high-rise condos, garden apartments, and older walk-ups on tight streets — building rules, elevator reservations, and metered loading zones. Climb into the foothills toward Adams Hill, Rossmoyne, Chevy Chase Canyon, and Verdugo Woodlands, and the streets narrow and wind up steep grades with homes set well above the curb. Gentlemen’s Moving works both sides every week, and we plan each move around the specific address rather than treating Glendale as one place.

The two sides of Glendale are two different jobs, and we plan them differently.
Downtown and the Brand Boulevard corridor. The high-rise condos around the Americana at Brand and the Galleria come with strict building rules: reserved freight elevators, a certificate of insurance the building wants on file before the crew clears the lobby, and set move-in windows. Loading zones on Brand are metered and enforced, and older walk-up buildings on the surrounding grid mean stairs. We coordinate the building requirements ahead of time so your crew isn’t stuck in a lobby while a reserved elevator window runs out.
The foothills. Adams Hill, Rossmoyne, Chevy Chase Canyon, Glenoaks Canyon, and Verdugo Woodlands change the job completely. Streets wind and climb, driveways are steep, and homes often sit well above the road with stairs between the curb and the door. Here the truck size matters — sometimes a smaller box truck reaches a home a full-size mover can’t. We check the street and the approach before the day, and staff stair runs and long carries for what they actually take.
Tell us the address when you book, and we’ll bring the right truck and crew for that part of Glendale.
Glendale has a lot of 1920s Spanish Revival and Tudor homes, especially in Rossmoyne and Sparr Heights — beautiful, and built with narrow doorways, original tile, and tight staircases that a modern sectional or a California king doesn’t clear easily. Our crews disassemble what needs to come apart and protect original features rather than forcing furniture through a 1924 doorframe.
Pianos are a specialty too. We’ve done over a thousand piano moves — uprights and grands handled with proper equipment and a crew of three to four, so let the office know at booking if one’s involved. Antiques and other fragile pieces get materials matched to the item. Want it packed for you? Our packing service covers the whole home or just the delicate rooms, and junk removal clears what you’re not taking.
Local moves are billed hourly, based on crew size and how long the job takes, with a minimum number of hours. In Glendale, which side of the city you’re in affects the time more than anything:
Whatever the conditions, the price we quote is the price you pay — no service charge, gas fee, truck fee, stairs fee, or surprise long-carry charge at the end. For general pricing, see our rates page.

Not every move stays local. We cover the wider Los Angeles area and run long-distance moves to any state with our own trucks and drivers — no brokers handing your belongings off along the way. If your move-out and move-in dates don’t line up, storage in transit keeps everything safe until you’re ready, and long-term storage covers longer gaps. Just need extra hands? Our labor-only crews work by the hour.

Yes. Give us your building’s management contact at booking and we prepare the COI and reserve the elevator window ahead of the move date, so nothing stalls in the lobby.
That’s routine for us in Adams Hill, Rossmoyne, and the canyons. We check the street and the grade beforehand and bring a truck sized for it — sometimes a smaller box truck reaches a home a full-size mover can’t.
Hourly, based on crew size and job length, with furniture disassembly and reassembly included. You get an upfront price with no hidden fees.

Yes, common in Rossmoyne and Sparr Heights. We disassemble furniture that won’t clear a 1920s doorframe and protect original features rather than forcing anything through.
