About Junk Removal

Junk removal in Los Angeles covers everything from a single-item pickup to clearing out an entire property — homes, apartments, offices, and garages. We handle the lifting, loading, and disposal, including the awkward part: getting a sleeper sofa down three flights of stairs without damaging the walls. Nothing needs to be moved to the curb before we arrive.

What We Take Away

Furniture and household items — sofas, mattresses, bed frames, dressers, dining sets, desks, chairs, rugs, and the boxes of things in the garage nobody has opened since 2019.

Appliances and electronics — refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, TVs, monitors, printers, and computers. Electronics count as e-waste in California and can’t go in a dumpster, so these get routed to proper recycling.

Full cleanouts — garages, attics, storage units, estates, and properties being prepared for sale or handover. If a relative’s home needs clearing and nobody knows where to start, this is the service.

Office and commercial — old desks and chairs, filing cabinets, cubicle panels, retail fixtures, and build-out debris after a renovation. Usually scheduled alongside our commercial movers.

Oversized and awkward — pianos, safes, exercise equipment, hot tubs, and anything else that needs more than two people and a dolly.

Some things we can’t take: hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, asbestos, and similar materials have to go through licensed hazardous-waste handlers. Tell us what you have when you book and we’ll say straight away whether it’s something we can move.

How It Works, What It Costs, Where It Goes

You tell us roughly what’s going — a photo over text is usually enough for a few items, though for a full garage or a property cleanout we’d rather look at it than guess. You get the price before anything is loaded. Junk removal is priced by volume, meaning how much space your items take up in the truck, not by weight or by the hour. Bulky-but-light costs more than small-but-heavy, which surprises people.

Then we load it. Everything comes from where it stands — you don’t drag the couch outside first, and stairs don’t change the number after the fact. Two things do shift a quote: specialty items like pianos, safes, and large appliances need more crew and equipment, and access matters, since a third-floor walk-up takes longer than a garage you can back a truck up to. Both are factored in upfront rather than added later.

What happens next is the part most people never see. Most of what gets called junk isn’t — a dining table someone doesn’t want is still a dining table. We sort what we collect instead of driving straight to a landfill: usable furniture and household goods go to donation, electronics are handled as e-waste and taken to proper recycling facilities, and metal, cardboard, and other recyclables get separated out. What genuinely can’t be reused or recycled goes to disposal, and that’s the last step rather than the default one. You don’t organize any of it, and you don’t spend a Saturday driving between a donation center and a recycling facility.

Junk Removal Across Los Angeles

We work across Los Angeles and the surrounding area, including Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Pacific Palisades.

Most of our junk removal happens around a move — and that’s the cheapest time to do it. Every item you decide against is one you’re not paying to wrap, carry, drive across the city, and unload again. Clearing out before a local move or a long-distance relocation usually costs less than shipping the same items to the new place. The same logic applies to storage — don’t pay monthly to keep something you’d throw out if you looked at it properly.

Junk Removal — Questions We Get

No. We take items from wherever they are — upstairs, garage, back yard, storage unit. Moving things to the curb yourself doesn’t lower the price, because the quote covers our crew doing exactly that.

By volume — how much room your items take up in the truck. Not by weight, not hourly. You get the price before we start loading.

For a couple of items, usually yes — a photo helps. For a garage, an estate, or a full property, we’d rather see it, because guessing at volume over the phone leads to numbers that change on the day. Nobody likes that.

Hazardous materials — paint, chemicals, asbestos, and similar — need licensed handlers. Tell us what you’ve got when booking and we’ll be straight with you about what we can and can’t remove.

Yes, and it’s the first step rather than an afterthought. Usable furniture goes to donation, electronics go to e-waste recycling, and disposal is what’s left over.

Yes. Estate cleanouts, garages, offices, and properties being prepared for sale are normal jobs for us.

That’s the most sensible way to do it. We clear what’s not coming with you on the same visit, so you’re not paying to transport things you’ll get rid of anyway.

Yes. California MTR0191251, US DOT 2399435.
